Golden Eagles Field (Soccer/Track & Field/Lacrosse)
Golden Eagles Field proudly serves as the home field for eight Concordia University Irvine athletic programs, including men's and women's soccer, both indoor and outdoor track & field, and men's and women's lacrosse.
A major renovation of the facility began in 2020, highlighted by the installation of brand-new lighting, made possible through the generosity of donors. These lights enable the university to host evening competitions and extend practice hours for the many teams that utilize the field. During the 2020–21 academic year, a new gray track was also added, replacing the red track that had been installed during an earlier renovation ahead of the 2005 season. Additional upgrades were made during Concordia’s transition from the NAIA to NCAA Division II.
Golden Eagles Field features state-of-the-art field turf and offers a scenic view of the Concordia campus, with French Hill providing a picturesque backdrop. Convenient parking is available near the dormitories, with additional spaces located adjacent to the baseball field.
The facility includes a team room shared by the soccer programs, as well as key track & field amenities such as running lanes, a shot-put area, long and high jump landing zones, and two sets of bleachers along the near side. A perimeter fence was added in 2012 to fully enclose the field. Currently the area behind Golden Eagles Field is undergoing renovations to include our newest project “Vision 2025”. Vision 2025 includes an extensive renovation and expansion of the CU Center, as well as the construction of the new Golden Eagles Fitness & Training Center (GEFT).
Spectators can enjoy wireless internet access, and live stats are available for all home soccer and lacrosse games. Golden Eagles Field has hosted NAIA Opening Round women's soccer (2011) and men's soccer (2012) matches. A new, state-of-the-art scoreboard was installed in 2020, along with two storage units at either end of the field. In 2014, a dedicated video equipment shed was built on the north side of the track to support internet broadcasting.
