Gitte Mejer put together a career at Concordia University that has earned her the title of greatest player in the history of the women's basketball program.
She was a two-time all-American and three-time all-Golden State Athletic Conference honoree, leading the Eagles to a record of 71-19 during those three seasons.
Mejer holds a plethora of records for single games, season and career. For a singl game, she is the standard-bearer for points (53), field goals made (24) and attempted (36), and free throw percentage (13-of-13) while also grabbing the second-most rebounds (19). The 53 points scored against Biola in January of 1994 came just three days after scoring 47 against Point Loma Nazarene.
Her single season marks include points per game (24.9), field goals (261) and field goal percentage (.630) while she also set career marks for points (2,716), field goals made (838) and attempted (1,415) and field goal percentage (.592).
