A relatively-young Concordia baseball program turned the corner when players like Paul Weldon began to arrive on campus.
Weldon, who signed with the California Angels in 1991 after his collegiate career with the Eagles, was a two-time All-GSAC performer. Along with Mike Adams, the two were the first-ever NAIA All-Americans in program history, earning honorable mention honors in 1991.
A stellar 1991 season produced a .444 batting average with 68 hits, 29 walks and 40 stolen bases. He finished his career 3rd in batting with a .374 average, 2nd in stolen bases with 56, and his 41 multi-hit games is 6th all-time.
