The Rundown: The Concordia Eagles were victorious on senior day, by a count of 3-1 over Hawaii-Hilo at Eagles Field.
By the Numbers: Jacob Rodewald, Jeremy Gordon, and Issac Gettis scored for the Eagles with Ryan Naime, Jesus Garcia, and Eric Torres picking up the assists. Jordan Brinkley made three saves in goal picking up the win, and Horacio Abaroa finished the game, making one save.
The Difference: The shots were low for both sides, with CUI firing 12 to the Vulcans seven. Each team put five on frame.
Critical Plays: Three minutes into the game, Ryan Naime found Jacob Rodewald on a pass in the box that he fired high into the net for his third of the year. With 28 minutes in the half a CUI handball in the box led to an equalizing UHH penalty kick. 15 minutes into the second half a CUI corner from Jesus Garcia found the head of Jeremy Gordon for the 2-1 lead. Four minutes later Rodewald got a look on loose ball in the box. With 20 minutes left Eric Torres crossed to Isaac Gettis who caught the ball high and lifted it over the keeper's head.Â
What it Means: Concordia goes to 5-8-1 and 5-4-1 in the PacWest.
