On Saturday, November 7, the Concordia men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed in a dual meet against Pomona-Pitzer, and even though CUI lost both meets, there were still some great individual finishes.
Jessica Wilson won the 1000 yard freestyle at 11:02.70 and returning national champion Baliee Blankemeier won the 200 yard butterfly clocking in at 2:09.54. Newcomer Marleigh Aulis was victorious in the 500 yard free at 5:14.06. Wilson returned to win the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:27.41.  Aulis and Blankemeier's times were the fastest for those events when swimming exhibition.
John Dowd claimed the 200 yard freestyle at 1:44.57 and Dylan Aba took the 50 yard freestyle at 20.99. Josh DelaRosa won the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:02.26. Alba returned to win the 100 yard free at 46.20 and both of his wins were pool records.
"Coming off three weeks of hard training in this macrocycle and an emotional three days, we were pretty tired and worn out. But there were some strong races with a few really good finishes. We matched up in the top spots but just didn't have the depth to score more points. So for this time for the season, we should be okay with our times," said head coach Jeff Boss.Â
The Eagles will stay near home this weekend and compete in the OC Invite hosted by Soka University of America in Aliso Viejo, CA on Saturday, November 14. Â
