The Rundown: The Concordia Eagles fell on the road to Fresno Pacific, 3-0, on Saturday.
By the Numbers: Hannah Andrews led CUI with 14 kills, hitting .303. Madeline Deters was there in support with eight kills. Ellie Ladensack added six. Kyra Auten had an impressive four service aces.
The Difference: CUI hit .137 compared to .261 for FPU and was outblocked 7-2. The Eagles did lead in aces 8-3 but had a lower sideout percentage in each set.
Critical Plays: Kills from Andrews and Ladensack put CUI ahead 8-6 in set one, but they fell behind 17-12 and fell 25-17. The Eagles were in control in set two, 16-11, on kills from Auten and Andrews, and an ace from Taylor Dennison. The Eagles had two set points, but FPU came back to tie at 24 and took it 26-24 to end on a four-point run. CUI pulled close, 14-12 in set three, and 22-20 later on, but eventually fell 25-20.
What it Means: Concordia fell to 14-13 and 10-8 in the PacWest, and 2-7 on the road this season.
