The Rundown: The Concordia Eagles used three second half goals to defeated Academy of Art in Pacifica, CA, 4-2, on Thursday.
By the Numbers: Connor Gordon and Isaac Gettis each scored twice for CUI. Jordan Brinkley made five saves in goal.
The Difference: CUI trailed in shots 23-19, but had the advantage in the important, shots on goal, 10-7.
Critical Plays: The game was scoreless for the first 40 minutes, with CUI scoring on their first shot on goal, as Connor Gordon finished Chris Rodriguez's corner kick at 41:29. Four minutes into the second half, AAU tied the game on an unassisted goal. At 60:18 it was Gordon again, this time utilizing an Eric Torres assist. A mere 11 seconds later a deep shot from the Urban Knights tied the match again. Gettis scored his first off a turnover at 86:53 and another less than a minute later on an assist from Connor Gordon to make sure the Eagles were victories.
"It was a good team performance today," CUI head coach Chris Gould said. "We played well and received an exceptional performance from Connor Gordon."
What it Means: With one game left the Eagles are 6-9-1 and 6-5-1 in the PacWest.
Up Next: The Eagles have not lost 10 games since 2004 and will look to avoid that on Saturday with their season-finale at 2 pm at Notre Dame de Namur in Belmont, CA.
