The Rundown: The Concordia Eagles completed a great first year in the PacWest with a 3-2 win over Notre Dame de Namur in Belmont, CA on Saturday.
By the Numbers: Miranda Canales, Carly Mottram, and Kryssa Johnson all scored for CUI, and McKenna Carrillo, Natalie Werner, and Taylor Thurmond had the assists. Darby Clements made three saves for CUI.
The Difference: CUI led in shots 15-11 and 9-5 in shots on goal.
Critical Plays: No goals were scored in the first half, but five minutes into the second half, Miranda Canales scored on the pass from Carrillo off the post. Nine minutes later Mottram made it 2-0, rebounded Werner's free kick. At 66:01 the Argonauts got their first goal, but at 79:42 Thurmond made a long throw into the box that found Johnson's foot for the goal. With six minutes left NDNU made it 3-2.
What it Means: It was not the PacWest Championship the Eagles were pursuing, but the Eagles end with an impressive mark of 11-3-3 and 10-2-1 in the conference in their first campaign.
