Concordia Goes 1-3 At Aggie Roundup

Concordia traveled this past weekend to Northern California to compete in the Aggie Roundup tournament at the University of California Davis.
The Eagles started off the tournament against California Baptist University, a fellow PacWest competitor. CUI had a strong first quarter but let the Lancers get a lead in the 2nd quarter to separate from the Eagles and end with a final score of 8-14 defeat.
Match two of the first day was against Stanford University. CUI's Rhett Turvey started off the match with a goal against Stanford's goalie Oliver Lewis. Teammates Julian Myers and Santiago Rodriguez also put points on the board with a goal each for the match. The Eagles were defeated 3-20.
Concordia splashed back in the water for day two of the Aggie Roundup tournament to compete against University of California Berkeley. Jamie Saunders had his strongest performance and blocked the Bears over six times throughout the match.  CUI had a consistent first half scoring two goals in the first and second by Santiago Rodriguez, Pedro Moraes, and Spencer Hosch. Concordia was defeated with a total score of 4-19.
The last match of the Aggie Roundup was against Diablo Valley College that Saturday afternoon. The team had an all around confident match scoring in all four quarters. Players Santiago Rodriquez, Jake Snyder, scored one goal each. Spencer Hosch, Matthew Lange, and Pedro Moraes scored in the doubles and triples for goals in the match. Jamie Sunders lead the defense having a total of nine saves against Diablo Valley with a winning score of 15-9.
Concordia will be traveling to Malibu, CA on October 10th and 11th 2015 at Pepperdine University to compete in the SoCal Tournament. More information TBD.Â
