When the Concordia Men's Soccer team established a 3-0 lead in the first half against Notre Dame de Nemur, the game appeared to be over. The Eagles dominated not only the score board, but the overall momentum of the game.

The game was not over, and the Argonauts of Notre Dame de Nemur were not going to make it an easy victory for the Eagles.

Connor Gordon set the pace of the game early, scoring within the first minute of the opening whistle on a pass from Isaac Gettis.

Gordon grabbed his ninth goal of the season about 10 minutes later, but this time Eric Torres set it up.  Asher Axe extended the lead to three on a goal scoring assist from Jose Huerta.

Following the half time intermission, the Argonauts seemed to be a different team on the field. The NDNU energy ignited and the first half dominance on the field shifted.

The three goal run by the Argonauts started with Naia Graham's free kick boot to the top left corner past Eagle keeper Jordan Brinkley. Glenn Gomez joined next on a penalty kick. Josh Guzman tied the score when he followed up on a deflected shot from Esteban Berumen.

The Eagles responded in the 76th minute with a Julian Font goal. But with six minutes left in regular play, Berumen banked his10th goal of the year at a critical time, scoring a penalty kick to tie the score again.5052

After 90 minutes of intense and physical play, the Eagles and Argonauts began the first overtime period.
Gordon drew a foul in the penalty box, giving the Eagles the opportunity to finish the game. Miguel Mendoza stepped up to the line and delivered his first career goal for the victory.

The win over the Argonauts gave Concordia its second win of the week

Thursday, the team established a 1-0 lead in the first half on a goal from Jacob Rodewald. The assist from Gordon was only the start of his game the Penguins couldn't stop.

The real damage came in the second half. Gordon got his second assist, this time feeding Ether Bustos. To finish off the game, Gordon scored two of his own. The first was a penalty kick and the second was only seconds after coming into the game off of the bench.

Brinkley banked another shut out, saving three balls in his 78 minutes off play. The keepers did not see a lot of action from Dominican, the defense was anchored by John Letona, who shut down offensive hopes of the Penguins all game.

The Eagles currently command second place in the PacWest. At 7-2, Concordia is behind the undefeated Dixie State Trailblazers.

Concordia returns to Eagles Field at 1 p.m. on Thursday against Holy Names University.
