In the 4-0 victory over the Holy Names Hawks, Connor Gordon gave Concordia the 1-0 lead on a tight hook shot from the right that snuck its way past the goalie.

The Hawks battled to hold the Eagles to a one goal lead through halftime, but the Eagles broke things open in the second half.

Ether Bustos scored on the cross from Eric Torres to the bottom left. The Eagles continued to maintain control of the game until Jacob Rodewald closed out the win by scoring two shots.

The first was a tricky chip shot off of the outside of his foot. Although it did not have the power, the boomerang like spin had Eagles field believing it would go wide left, but the rotation brought it back into the net.

Four minutes later, Rodewald reenacted his same technique but this time with some more power. The Rodewald shot was too much for the Hawks goalie, whipping its way into the net again.

Brinkley had two saves on the shut out.

5075Saturday's matchup was an intense 90 minutes of play between the Eagles and Fresno Pacific University.

Gordon grabbed his 11th goal of the year on an assist from Bustos in the seventh minute.

Rodewald rocketed in his third goal of the weekend to extend the lead to two on the Asher Axe assist.

Gordon got one more in the 68th minute on a breakaway up the middle.

Fresno Pacific finally got on the board when Jorge Chedraui scored on a scrambled play off of a throw in.

The Eagles struck back when Gordon was fouled in the penalty box and Miguel Mendoza took the successful one on one shot.

Concordia is now 9-2 in the PacWest, second behind its next opponent, the undefeated Dixie State Trailblazers. The first and second place teams match up at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday in St. George, Utah.
