Box Score Despite establishing a ten point halftime lead, the Women's Basketball Team fell to the Cal State San Bernardino Coyotes 69-59.
The Coyotes captured the early lead, concluding the first quarter with a four-point advantage. The Eagles fought back at the start of the second, beginning with a three-pointer from Liz Rudd on the assist from Montana Walters. Another Walters assists to Annie Studdert gave the Eagles the slim lead.
Points from Studdert, Zoe–Scott Goss, Ugochi Anudokem and Gabby Johnson pushed the lead to seven. The second quarter surge gave the Eagles a 37-27 spread entering the half.
Freshmen Anudokem had nine points in her eight minutes of play.
Concordia maintained the lead throughout the third, but the Coyotes continued to chip away at the Eagles. San Bernardino cut an 11-point lead to five entering the final quarter.
The game shifted with eight minutes to play when the Coyotes captured the one-point lead that sparked a seven-point run.
The Eagles responded with a three-pointer from Maddy Sulka and three more points from Anudokem to make a 59-56 Coyote lead with 2:13 remaining.
Another seven-point run down the stretch stamped the Coyote lead, concluding the game with a 69-59 score.
Anudokem lead the Eagles with 12 points. Johnson had seven points, two assists and two steals.
Concordia returns to CU Arena Friday for their home opener starting at 6 p.m. against the Cal State Los Angeles Golden Eagles.Â
