Box Score The Eagles began the Seattle Pacific Classic women's basketball tournament Friday night, starting things off with the home 14th ranked falcons and their undefeated record.
Concordia looked to snap the Falcons nine game winning streak, but fell short by 12 points to drop the first game of the weekend 76-64.
The first quarter was a tight match up, until the Falcons broke things open at a 10-10 tie. From there, Seattle Pacific went on a 10 point run to close out the quarter with a 20-10 lead.
A jumper from the Falcons started the second and extended the run to 12 points, but a three-pointer from Haley Brown brought Seattle Pacific to a halt. The Eagles worked to get back into the game, but entered the half down 13 after Maddie Sulka sunk a three to end it.
In the third, the Falcons never let the Eagles within single digits, and extended their lead to 20. Concordia showed resilience in the fourth. Judith Espinoza opened up the final quarter with three points for the Eagles. Next, Montana Walters drained her first of three fourth quarter three-pointers to spark Concordia. Although the Eagles reduced the Falcon lead, they did not get within less than 12 of their opponent.
Walters led the Eagles with 12 points and six assists. Freshmen Ugochi Anudokem had 11 points, two assists and six rebounds. Morgan Bryant scored 12 points in only 10 minutes of play. The Eagles posted strong numbers from behind the arch, making 46.7 percent of their shots.
