The Rundown: For the second straight game, #2 ranked CUI built a huge lead and coasted to a big win with a 21-7 victory over LMU.

By the Numbers: The Eagles opened the game on a 8-0 run and never looked back, scoring 16 of the game's first 18 points and cruising to a win.

The Difference:  Faceoffs were dominated by the Eagles, as Roman Smith (9/10) and Bryant Hernandez (11/14) combined to win 83% of their draws.

Critical Plays: Layne Preasmyer bulldozed his defender early in the second quarter and finished with a punishing high to high rip to score his first collegiate goal and set the Eagle bench ablaze. He followed with an encore performance later in the 3rd quarter to earn player of the game honors. The offense had a balanced effort with 11 Eagles finishing with at least 1 point, while the defense was paced by Jake Pense (3 caused turnovers), Winston Robinson (2 CTO) and Ronnie Fernando (5 saves).

"We had a unique opportunity to get all of our young guys valuable game reps and they really answered the bell," said Coach Brent.

What it Means:  After 2 games the Eagles are off to a torrid start, scoring 38 goals and conceding only 15.

Up Next:  CUI takes on NCAA DIII Whittier College on Saturday, 2/20 at 7:00pm before opening their MCLA D2 schedule at home on 2/27 vs University of San Diego.
