Eagles Post 11-0 Preseason Tournament Record

The Rundown: Concordia defeated College of Idaho 10-2 in five innings and Oregon Tech 3-0 in day three of the Northwest Cup in Happy Valley, OR.  Concordia finished the tournament 6-0.

Concordia 10, College of Idaho 2

By the Numbers:  Amy Eilefson went deep and Nicole Chavez doubled.  The Eagles had 10 hits and scored 10 runs.  Alyssa Yglesias and Eilefson each had two hits.

The Difference:  BethAnn McCann scattered six hits and allowed two runs.  The Eagles were very effective scoring 10 runs.

Critical Plays:  Eilefson hit a three-run homer in the first and Chavez doubled and scored on Jasmin Dresser's single.  The Eagles added two more in the third and loaded the bases in the fourth.  They scored three runs and added one more on Charlotte Foster's single in the fifth.

Concordia 3, Oregon Tech 0

By the Numbers:  Grayson Harvey allowed five hits but no runs, stranding eight.  Ryann Ferguson and Megan Feuerstein doubled. 

The Difference:  Harvey improved to 8-0 with her second shutout of the year.

Critical Plays:  Feuerstein drove home one run in the first and Hannah Howell grounded out to score another.  Ferguson doubled to start the fifth and scored on Hanna Miller's single.

"It was good to get out and play somewhere unfamiliar," CUI head coach Crystal Rosenthal said.  "The competition was good and we came away with six wins.  Both our pitchers were really good today.  We look forward to PacWest play."

What it Means:  The Eagles are 16-1 on the year and 11-0 on neutral fields.

Up Next:  CUI will play their first PacWest games next weekend in San Rafael, CA against Dominican.  They start at 12 pm on Saturday.
