Eagles Down Westmont, Fall To PBA

Concordia split with Palm Beach Atlantic and Westmont.

Despite the loss, many of the Eagles put up strong performances against Palm Beach Atlantic University. In the first slot of the singles competition, Till Guttenberger defeated Hendrik Burmeister in three sets with scores 2-6, 6-1, and 6-4 respectively. In the second slot, Filip Burnac bested Nicholas Battistini, taking him to three sets but ultimately losing with scores of 4-6, 7-6, and 10-12. In the fifth slot, Daniel Reddmann defeated Stanislav Feofilav in two sets with scores of 7-6 and 7-6. In the sixth slot, Harsha Manjunath competed against Pietro de Silva and losing in three sets, 4-6, 6-4, and 6-7.

On March 8th, the Eagles took on Westmont College at the Costa Mesa Tennis Center in Costa Mesa, CA. The Eagles came out victorious with an overall score of 5-4.

Filip Burnac took the number two slot against Travis Kimsey, coming back from a 5-7 loss to win the next two consecutively 7-6 and 6-0. In the fifth slot, Daniel Reddmann defeated Tommy Nightingale with dominating scores of 6-2 and 6-1. In the sixth slot, Harsha Manjunath conquered David Akin in two sets with consecutive scores of 6-2.

In the doubles competition, Till Guttenberger and Daniel Reddmann teamed up to beat Carl-Phil Lindqvist and Travis Kimsey in slot one with an 8-6 victory. In the third slot, Filip Burnac and Harsha Manjunath defeated David Akin and Jordan Strandness with a score 8-4.

The Eagles are 3-7 on the season and will take on Brigham Young University – Hawaii on March 14th at the Costa Mesa Tennis Center.
