CUI Picks Up Pair of Exhibition Wins

It was a tough day for the Eagles on March 11 against the University of Arizona as they went 0-5 on the day. Rachel Flynn and Logan Grove played against McKenna Witt and Madison Witt, ultimately losing 15-21 in both sets. In the second slot, Marissa Boyd and Amber Rose competed against Jianna Bonomi and Katarina Schulz with scores 10-21 and 14-21. Madeline Deters and Kaila Ames played against Sam Manley and Olivia Macdonald with scores of 7-21 and 11-21. In the fourth slot, Tristan Self partnered with Kyra Auten and competed against Mia Mason and Sara Pantovic with scores of 8-21 and 12-21. The fifth slot was played by Morgan Nunley and Katie Napier against Hailey Devlin and MacKenzie Kleespies with scores of 11-21 and 13-21. In the last slot, Ellie Ladensack and Savannah Spear played Tyler Lucas and Nikki Attea, losing 13-21 and 18-21.
On March 18th, the Eagles competed against Mira Costa and Cal State San Marcos in Oceanside, CA. The Eagles took the victory on both matches with scores 4-1 against Mira Costa and 5-0 against Cal State San Marcos.
Against Mira Costa in the first slot, Rachel Flynn and Logan Grove lost in two sets with scores 16-21 and 19-21. In the second slot, Marissa Boyd and Amber Rose won with scores 21-17 and 21-15. In the third slot, Kaila Ames and Taylor Dennison lost the first set 16-21 and came back to win the next two, 21-12 and 15-7. In slot four, Kyra Auten and Tristan Self won in two sets with scores 21-14 and 21-12. In the fifth set, Morgan Nunley and Madeline Deters won in a close match with scores 21-19 and 21-17. In the last slot, Ellie Ladensack and Savannah Spear won in two sets.
Against San Marcos, Rachel Flynn and Logan Grove won in two dominating sets with scores 21-4 and 21-10. In the second slot, Marissa Boyd and Amber Rose won in two sets with scores 21-10 and 21-18. In the third slot, Kaila Ames and Taylor Dennison won with scores 21-16 and 21-10. In the fourth slot, Krya Auten and Tristan Self won 21-15 and 21-12 respectively. In the fifth set, Morgan Nunley played with Madeline Deters and won in two sets with commanding scores 21-7 and 21-11. In the last slot, Kailey Dudevoir and Katie Napier won in two sets.
