Both Eagles Teams Earn Trips To PacWest Championships

IRVINE, Calif. – The fields for the 2016 PacWest Men's and Women's Tennis Championships were finalized Sunday and the official brackets announced. The tournaments return to the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Center in Surprise, Ariz., April 13-16.

The Concordia women enter with a 6-9 record and the 8th seed in the championship field. They will face the #9 seed Stanislaus State in the first round on Wednesday at 9 am. This will mark the first meeting in program history between the schools.
The men come in with a 4-12 record and the 6th seed. They begin with Point Loma, the third seed, on Thursday at 1:30 pm. The Eagles fell to Point Loma twice this year, 3-6, on both occasions.
The women's tournament expands to 12 teams this year and adds an extra day of competition. The 5-12 seeds will play first round matches on April 13. The top-four seeds receive a bye into the quarterfinals, and will play the first round winners on April 14. The women play at 9 a.m. each day, and the first round losers will play consolation matches at 5:30 p.m. on April 14.
The men's tournament returns to a full eight-team format with the addition of Concordia into the draw. The men will play at 1:30 p.m. each day.
