CUI Fights Hard, Fall In Third Place Match

The Rundown: The Concordia Eagles were defeated 5-0 by BYU-Hawaii in the Third Place Match on Saturday in the PacWest Championships in Surprise, AZ.
By the Numbers: BYUH swept the doubles, but it was close. Harsha Manjunath and Filip Burnac lost 8-6 in #3 doubles and Till Guttenberger and Daniel Reddmann pushed it to extra points, falling 9-7. BYUH won in #3 and #4 singles to seal the match, but Guttenberger won set one 6-0 in # singles and Burnac was leading 6-2, 5-2 in #2 singles.
The Difference:Â The Eagles did not go easily in any slot, and were just barely edged in this one.
What it Means:Â CUI finishes the season 5-14 and ranked #7 in the West Region.Â
