Freshman Cindy Tran's 10 kills on a .529 hitting percentage bright spot in 3-set loss

Box Score Irvine, CA - Teams that win conference championships do so because they can maintain a high level of pressure on their opponent throughout a match.  Dixie State reinforced that point and proved why they are one of two teams favored in the Pre-Season poll to win the PacWest Conference in 2016, sweeping the previously unbeaten Eagles 19-25, 21-25, 11-25 at CU Arena this evening.

Concordia's offense was led by freshman Cindy Tran (10 kills) and junior Rachel Flynn (10 kills, 9 digs) but the Eagles couldn't overcome a range of self-inflicted wounds that would keep them out-of-sync most of the match.  That, combined with a big night by Trailblazers' senior outside, Delayne Daniel (15 kills and 13 digs), were enough to keep the Eagles playing from behind, a position they had not experienced very often during their ten-match win streak.

Concordia will look to rebound on the road next weekend as they travel to northern California for a three-match swing.  The Eagles will face Dominican on Friday, Academy of Art Saturday, and Holy Names on Monday.
