Eagle Offense Too Much for the Royals

Box Score IRVINE, Calif. - The offensive firepower of Concordia's Men's Volleyball team was too much for Hope International University to handle, as the Eagles defeated the Royals in three sets.
As a team, Concordia hit .313 with only 10 errors on their way to the 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-17) win over HIU.
Senior
Ryan Anselmo led the Eagles in kills, racking up 12 on the night. He also added two services aces and a couple of block assists.
Jonathan Predney delivered another well-rounded game, putting up a stat line of 10 kills, three service aces, four block assist and eight digs.
And
Josiah Bergt came up big for the Eagles with nine kills, two block assists and two digs.
In the first set, the Eagles were able to create some separation after a kill from Anselmo that put them up 14-10. With help from three CUI errors, the Royals came back with a 5-0 run to take the lead at 15-14. The two teams battled until the score was tied at 20. Concordia then won two straight points to grab the momentum and went on to win the set 25-22.
The second set was controlled by Concordia, as they never trailed. Concordia recorded a hitting percentage of .344 in the set with six different Eagles combining for 15 kills, as they went on to win 25-21.
The Eagles offense was even better in the third, improving their hitting percentage to .433 in the set. The score was tied at 10 when the Eagles exploded for an 8-0 run, forcing a Royal timeout. CUI continued its dominance and overcame the Royals to win the last set 25-17.
