Eagles Outlast Cal Lutheran in 5

Box Score IRVINE, Calif. - It was a game of runs on Friday night, as the Concordia Men's Volleyball team hosted Cal Lutheran in another non-conference match. After five sets, the Eagles were able to squeak out a 3-2 (25-20, 28-26, 22-25, 19-25, 15-7) win.
At first, CUI looked like they were going to run away with the match, taking the first two sets by small margins. But the Kingsmen fought back to win the third and fourth sets, sending them to a winner takes all fifth set.
In the fifth, the Eagles flipped the switch, overpowering their opponent by a score of 15-7 and winning the match 3-2.
Seniors
Andrew Hammer and
Ryan Anselmo combined for 18 kills and seven block assists. Middle
Alec Krilis logged 12 kills and
Jonathan Predney added 16 kills and 10 digs.
The Eagles used the trio of
Chandler Gibb,
Isaiah Kaaa, and
Cristian Rodriguez as setters tonight. Gibb led with 25 assists, while Rodriguez followed with 16, and Kaaa pitched in 12.
