The CU Arena was rocking on Saturday night as the Eagles took on Chaminade in the 2017 Homecoming game. The Eagle offense could not be stopped as they defeated the Silverswords 70-59.
Out of the starting gate, the Eagles were in control. With the score tied at 2-2,
Portia Neale sank a three-pointer at 7:54 and the Eagles held the lead for the rest of the game. At the end of the first quarter, they led 23-18.
Morgan Bryant led the way in the first half, scoring eight points off the bench. A layup from Bryant at 6:41 in the second quarter put the up by nine. A three-pointer from
Elizabeth Rudd with just six seconds left sealed the deal for Concordia, and the Eagles ended the first half up 41-33.
A layup from defending PacWest Freshman of the Week,
Ugochi Anudokem, put the Eagles up by 10 to start the second half. The largest lead came from a
Montana Walters layup, giving Concordia a 16 point advantage with 9:23 to go in the fourth quarter.
The Eagles outscored Chaminade in points off the bench 32-7, led by 12 from Bryant. She also provided two steals and one block. Anudokem finished the night with 11 points and led the team with nine rebounds.
Annie Studdert stayed hot, providing eight points and eight rebouonds. The Eagles shot 47 percent on the night.
The home stand continues on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 5:30 p.m. as the Notre Dame de Namur Argonauts come to town.
