Eagles Continue Successful Hawaiian Trip with Second Straight Win

The Concordia Women's Basketball Team won its second consecutive game of its Hawaiian road trip, defeating BYU-Hawaii 83-64.

Madeline Sulka layup at 6:55 in the first quarter gave the Eagles a lead that they would not relinquish for the rest of the game. After trading points back and forth throughout the second quarter, the Eagles ended the first half with a 40-32 lead over the Seasiders.

In the third quarter the Eagles widened their lead, tacking on another 25 points, led by seven from
Zoe Scott-Goss. Aided by strong defense, the Eagles went on a 20-4 run.  They forced seven turnovers and stole the ball six times.

Scott-Goss lead the Eagle offense, posting a season high 16 total points.Â
Annie Studdert provided 12, and
Montana Walters and Gabby Johnson each added 11. As a team they stole the ball 15 times,
Alyssa Braun and
Sopavy Seng leading with three each.Â
Judith Espinoza provided seven assists. The Eagles posted a 50 percent field goal percentage and went 14-19 from the free throw line.

The Eagles conclude their Hawaii trip on Saturday when they take on the Vulcans of Hawaii-Hilo at 8 p.m.
