Concordia Picks Up Two Wins in First Day of CBU Invitational

Box Score 2 Riverside, Calif. - After starting off the season with a three-game losing streak, the Concordia Men's Volleyball team has made a complete turn-around, winning its last three games including two on the first day of the Cal Baptist Invitational.
In the first game of the tournament, the Eagles knocked off St. Francis University by a score of 3-1 (21-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-23). The Red Flash could not cool off outside hitter
Jonathan Predney, as he posted his second straight game with double-digit kills with 13. Senior
Joseph Pillon had a breakout match, with 13 kills of his own at a hitting percentage of .429. And setter
Chandler Gibb just keeps getting better, dishing out a season-high 41 assists in the match.
The Eagles were put to the test in their second match of the tournament, but were able to pull out a 3-2 (25-21, 21-25, 25-27, 25-13, 15-8) win against Lindenwood University.
Concordia used 13 players in order to win the match, showing a glimpse of their depth and the ability to outlast opponents.
Outside hitter
Hunter Howell came to play in this one, contributing eight kills and eight block assist, while Christian Rodriguez had his best outing of the season with 9 assists.
The duo of Pillon and Predney had another impressive performance as they led Concordia in kills again. Pillon finished with 14 kills, nine digs and four block assists in the match. Predney added 11 kills, four digs, a couple of block assists and an ace.
