Concordia Men's Water Polo won its fourth game of the year by a margin of one point on Saturday against Fresno Pacific University. Following the 7-6 win over the Sunbirds, the Eagles dropped their second matchup of the weekend to the UC Davis Aggies.
The Eagles got on the board first against the Sunbirds with a lone first quarter goal from Spencer Hosch. Â Patrick Zsiros and Angel Rojas added one apiece to the Eagle tally in the second, but the team also allowed four goals from their opponents to fall behind 3-4 entering the third period.
Concordia improved its defense in the third and only allowed one Sunbird goal. They generated some offense as well, with goals from Cristiano Tomassetti and Zsiros.
Tied at five, the Sunbirds and Eagles battled for the victory in the fourth. Hosch delivered his second goal on the assist from Rojas with 5:43 remaining. 30 seconds later, Fresno Pacific retailiated with a goal to even the score at six. With just under a minute to go, Jake Snyder put away the game winning goal on the assist from Jacob Saduddin.
Goal Keeper Alfredo De La Mora posted 11 goals and one steal.
The weekend split leaves Concordia at 8-8 and 2-3 in conference. October 22nd, the Eagles face Air Force Academy at Northwood High School at 1:30 P.M.Â
