Concordia Men's Soccer faced the No. 6 team in the West Region on Thursday afternoon in the Point Loma Sea Lions. PLNU scored early and held the lead to take the game 1-0.
Just six minutes into the game, the Sea Lions' Eduardo Gallardo scored on an open goal to put PLNU up 1-0.
The Eagles tried to answer back but could not find the net. Shots from
Jose Huerta and
Julian Font missed their target and a shot from
Ty O'Connor was saved by the Point Loma goalie. O'Connor's header was the only shot on goal from CUI in the game.
Ari Claro managed to get a shot off in the 78
th minute but the ball missed wide.
William Whiddon had one save for Concordia as Point Loma had just two shots on goal.
With their second loss in PacWest play this season, the Eagles sit at a conference record of 5-2-1 as Point Loma improves to 8-0-2.
The Eagles will host Senior Day on Saturday when they face the Dixie State Trailblazers in their last home game of the season. The game begins at 3 p.m. and the seniors will be honored in a pregame ceremony.
