Eagles put up 117 in win over BYU Hawaii

Box Score The Eagles returned to CU Arena Monday night for the last of their five game home stand. Monday's matchup against BYU Hawaii set the 9-5 Eagles up against the 3-11 Seasiders.
Concordia built a lead early on in the first half and saw offense from a flock of Eagles.
Brian Chambers, who has been explosive for the Eagles offensively, led the team in the first half with nine points, one block and one steal. Tad Dufelmeier dished out three assists with seven points in the first to tag along with his hands on defense. Geoff Gerlach and Cameron English added physical play in the paint, adding six points each.
As a team, Concordia shot 45.9 percent from the field, besting the Seasiders who sat at 44.8 percent. The Eagles succeeded on 6 of 12 three-pointers, slightly behind BYU Hawaii, who made 4 of 7.
The half ended with Concordia leading 42-34.
During the break, the crowd was entertained by the 8th grade SoCal Elite youth team. The team showcased their young talent, sharp shooting and ability to get a crowd of any size pumped during the five minute intermission. The Eagles utilized this energy themselves in the second half.
14 minutes into the second, the Eagles built their lead up to 63-42. Despite the Seasider push, Concordia's offensive spread separated the two squads.
Senior Justin Davis extended the lead to 23 on a smooth shot from behind the arch on the pass from Case Bruton. The team reached the century mark of 100 points on a free throw from Chambers.
Concordia concluded the game on a dunk from De'Jean Lark and a 117-91 win.
Chambers finished with 24 points and five steals. English had 12 points and seven rebounds on the night. Davis and Bruton each had 12 of their own, respectively. Dufelmeier totaled 11 points and nine assists.
Concordia hits the road for four straight games beginning with Azusa Pacific University on Feb. 11th at 3 p.m. The next home game will be the Eagles final game of the year and senior night on Feb. 23rd.Â
