Tennis Collects a Couple of Wins to Start the Season

COSTA MESA, Calif. – Both Concordia Men and Women's Tennis teams started off the season with wins on Saturday afternoon. The women overpowered Cal Lutheran University, sweeping the Regals 9-0 and the men edged Cypress college by a score of 5-4.
The Women
In doubles, The Eagles won all three of their matches is convincing fashion.
Anastasiia Kuprina and
Luma Schwab won their matchup with a score of 8-4 and the team of
Johanna Keeline and
Samantha Schuster took their match 8-6. The third team was formed by
Ghada Al-ajeely and
Ashley Glick, which also earned a win for Concordia.
CUI also got the sweep in singles, with Kuprina, Schwab, Keeline and Al-ajeely all competing again. Katherine Jensen and
Hailey Diefenbach also seen some action for Concordia in singles.
The Men
The Eagles fell short in double, losing two of the three matchups against the Chargers.
Till Guttenberger and
Daniel Reddmann were the bright spot for the Eagles, dominating their opponents with an 8-1 win.
Concordia turned the tables and took four out of six in singles.
Till Guttenberger was able to collect another win for the Eagles after going three sets and winning the last 7-6.
Daniel Reddmann,
Man Hon Ko, and
Thijs Hagen were the other Eagles with wins in singles.
Both teams are set to hit the road and take on Azusa Pacific University at 2:00 PM on Wednesday afternoon.
