Concordia Softball concluded its final two days of the Desert Stinger Tournament with two losses and one win. The Eagles ended the weekend with a 3-2 record.

They started Saturday's doubleheader against the California Collegiate Athletic Associations' Cal State Dominguez Hills.

The teams went scoreless through two innings until Concordia struck first in the bottom of the third on a solo homerun from Haylee Kloosterman.  They added one more in the fourth on an RBI double from Mackenzie Graham.

The Toros retaliated in the fifth by scoring seven runs.

Ryan Ferguson fired up the Eagles after the opponent's big inning with a single to center field. Kaylee Dalgarn followed up with a single and moved Ferguson to second. Nicole Chavez's hit scored Ferguson, cutting the Toro lead to four in the bottom of the fifth.

Dominguez Hills and its offense was not finished, adding two more in the top of the seventh. The Eagles opened up their final at bat with two hits from Dalgarn and Amanda Gjertsen, but it wasn't enough to spark a comeback.

At 7 p.m., the Eagles looked to bounce back against University of Sioux Falls.

The Cougars scored three runs in the second on three hits. Sioux Falls added one more run the next two innings.  Concordia staged a close comeback in the sixth fueled by Kailey Palazzolo's leadoff home run. Michelle Lieng built on the momentum with a single through the left side. Alyssa Turner stepped up next, knocking a double down the right field line. Sarah Kretschmar drew a walk, bringing in one. McKinsey Thorpe reached on a fielder's choice, making the score 5-3. Ferguson brought in the fourth Eagle run with a single to the right side.

Both teams went scoreless in the seventh, leaving Sioux Falls with the 5-4 win.

Sunday, the Eagles took on another CCAA team.

The Cal State Stanislaus Warriors posted one run in the third inning. Concordia came back quickly on Ferguson's fire power. She drove in Thorpe and Kretschmar for a 2-1 lead.

In the bottom of the sixth, Ferguson got on base from a fielder's choice. Turner grounded out but advanced Ferguson to second. Palazzolo produced once again, singling to drive in Ferguson.

BethAnn McCann closed out the game in the top of the seventh with two strike outs. She nabbed her second win of the year with five strike outs.

The next expedition for the Eagles begins Thursday Feb. 9th in St. George, Utah for Dixie State's Tournament. Concordia faces Metropolitan State University of Denver at 10 a.m. and St. Edwards University at 3 p.m.
