Water Polo Splits in Whittier

The Concordia Women's Water Polo Team split their two games on Saturday in Whittier, beating Occidental College 14-4 and dropping a game to Whittier College 16-13.

Game one was full of Eagle offense. Occidental played a close first quarter, holding the Eagles to three goals for a score of 3-2. Concordia would put up three more in the second. Throughout the first three quarters, Eagle defense held Oxy to just two goals. Offense took charge in the third quarter, putting five more on the board for a score of 11-2 after three. Freshman
Hanna Jordan led the Eagles with three goals.

In game two, the Poets scored first and would maintain this lead throughout the game. The Eagles stayed close the entire time, but just could not overcome Whittier's offense. Jordan again led the Eagles with four goals, scoring one in each quarter.Â
Lindsey Heaney followed with three goals.

The Eagles compete in Fresno on Saturday in the Fresno Pacific mini tournament, taking on Fresno Pacific at 10 a.m. and Cal State Monterey Bay at 1 p.m.
