Concordia Tennis Falls to APU

COSTA MESA, Calif. – The Concordia Men's and Women's Tennis teams competed against Azusa Pacific University on Wednesday afternoon. Both teams were playing in their second match of the season and each fell by a score of 7-2, bringing their records to 1-1 on the young season.

The Women
The Eagles went 1-3 in doubles, earning their only win from the team composed of Johanna Keeline and Samantha Schuster. The duo cruised to their win by a score of 8-2.

In singles, Keeline was the lone Concordia woman to win. She pulled away from her opponent and won by a score of 2-0 (6-2, 6-2).

The Men
Azusa Pacific proved to be a tough opponent on the men's side, holding the Concordia to just two wins. The Eagles were unable to catch a break in doubles, but did come away with wins from Daniel Reddmann and Thijs Hagen in singles.

Reddmann took his match 2-1 (6-2, 6-7, 6-2) and Hagen won his 2-1 (6-3, 5-7, 10-5).

Next up for the women is Dixie State on Friday, Feb. 10th at 2:00 PM. They will then join the men as both teams travel to the University of Redlands on Saturday, Feb. 11th and start at 10:00 AM.
