The Eagles extended their win streak to six straight before falling in game two against Hawai'i Pacific University. The split with the Sharks sets Concordia at 16-9-2 overall and 5-4-0 in conference.
Game 1: Concordia – 3 Hawai'i Pacific 0
Concordia captured the first run of the game in the fourth.
Amy Eilefson hit a one out double to right center. With
Ashley Balestreri in to pinch run,
Amanda Gjertsen hit a RBI double.
In the fifth, they added two more runs on three hits and a Shark error.
Lauren Rodriguez doubled to left center and advanced to third on error from
Sarah Kretschmar's hit. Kretschmar then got caught stealing second, but Rodriguez reached home safely.
McKinsey Thorpe struck next with a single to the short stop.
Hanna Miller made the next move with a RBI double to right center.
Grayson Harvey threw a seven inning shutout and one hitter with three strikeouts.
Game 2: Concordia – 0 Hawai'i Pacific 2
In the second game, the tables turned with the Sharks shutting out the Eagles. Despite generating six hits, the Eagles went scoreless.
They came close in the first inning.
Alyssa Turner led off with a single down the left field line and Thorpe moved her on a sacrifice bunt. Miller singled to center with one out but the Eagles were unable to score.
Hawai'i Pacific posted both of their runs in the fourth on two hits and two Eagle errors.
Nicole Chavez went 2-3.
Ryann Ferguson had one hit and one stolen base.
BethAnn McCann pitched four innings and had two strikeouts.
Concordia concludes its Hawaiian road trip on Saturday against BYU-Hawaii. The double hitter begins at 2 p.m. (PST).
