Eagles Split in Redlands

The Concordia Women's Water Polo Team took to the pool in Redlands on Tuesday for two games. Game one was against Redlands, and game two featured the Virginia Military Institute.
In game one,
Kelley Geurts got the scoring started for Concordia, scoring two goals in the first quarter.
Hanna Jordan also scored a goal in the first, and the Eagles ended the quarter with a slight lead at 3-2.
The Eagles scored four in the second quarter, beginning with one from
Emily Varisco with 6:10 remaining.
Ramsie Haskell scored two in the quarter and Jordan scored her second of the game. Concordia would extend their lead 7-2.
Haskell and Jordan each scored again in the third quarter, and
Shannon Graham added one more to give the Eagles a 10-5 lead.
Haskell added two more to bring her total to five for a final score of 12-6.
Madelynn Knust provided five saves in goal for the Eagles, allowing only six.
Game two provided more of a challenge for the Eagles, as they would drop the game, 10-8, to VMI.
Haskell scored the only goal for the Eagles in the first quarter and they would end it trailing 3-1.
In the second quarter, Geurts and Graham each tallied a goal as Knust provided two saves to bring the score back within one.
The Eagles put up three in the third, one each from
Megan Leckich, Geurts, and Graham. Graham and Varisco added one more each in the fourth, but the Eagles would fall 10-8.
Concordia takes on CalTech in Irvine on March 21 at 1:30 p.m.
