Eagle Offense Explodes Against CalTech

The Eagles took to the pool in Irvine to take on the Beavers of CalTech on Tuesday. Concordia dominated offensively and won by a final score of 17-2.
Corbin Bricks began the game with a goal in the first quarter and the Eagles never looked back. Kelley Geurtz, Hannah Jordan,
Ramsie Haskell,
Lindsey Heaney and Justine Vazquez all scored at least one goal in the quarter to give Concordia a 7-0 after the first.
The scoring rampage continued into the second half as the Eagles almost doubled the score, putting up six more. Katherine Leese added her first goal of the game, as did
Shannon Graham. Heaney added two more and Vazquez and Geurtz each added one to bring the score to 13-0. Goalie Madelynn Knust held the Beavers scoreless through the first half of the game.
A goal from Vazquez put the Eagles up 14-0 to start the third quarter. CalTech struck for their first goal of the game but Concordia quickly answered back with one of their own when
Madison Egan scored her first of the game. CUI lead 15-1 after three quarters.
Concordia sealed the deal with two more goals int he fourth quarter to cap of a 17-2 victory. Heaney led the offense with five goals in the game, followed by Vazquez with three. Knust recorded 11 saves throughout the game.
The Eagles return to the pool on Friday to take on Azusa Pacific. The game will be held at Northwood High School starting at 3 p.m.
