The Concordia Women's Water Polo team put up a fight on Friday against the Cougars of Azusa Pacific, but fell 9-5.

CUI struck first in the first quarter on a goal scored by Shannon Graham.  Just minutes later, Graham scored her second goal of the game to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead.  APU came back fighting to tie the game at two before Hanna Jordan scored to regain the lead for Concordia.  The Cougars came back to take a 5-3 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Ramsie Haskell scored the lone goal for the Eagles in the second quarter and the first half would end with APU leading 8-4.

Both teams were held scoreless in the third quarter.

With just 30 seconds left in the game, Elena Iaogawa scored the Eagles' final goal of the game but this wasn't enough to push Concordia past the Cougars.

Concordia now sits at 7-11 on the season.  They return to the pool on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. against Hartwick College.
