Eagles Drop a Couple on the Week

COSTA MESA, Calif. – The Concordia Women's Tennis team traveled to La Jolla, Calif. to match up against UC San Diego it's third conference match.
The Eagles came up short and took a 7-2 loss against the Tritons, bringing them to a 5-3 record this season.
In singles, Concordia's lone victory came from
Ghada Al-ajeely in the four slot. The freshman took her matchup by a score of 2-0 (7-5, 7-5).
Luma Schwab was in the one slot for the Eagles and was slightly edged out by her opponent. She dropped her match 2-0 (7-6, 7-6).
Concordia also came away with just one win in doubles too, as its number one team came to play.
Samantha Schuster and
Johanna Keeline represented the Eagles in that spot and took out their Triton opponents by a score of 8-1.
In the Eagles next match, they returned home to host BYU-Hawaii in another conference matchup.
CUI couldn't quite get into a groove and went down 8-1 for their second loss in a row.
The bright spot for the Eagles in the match was their third team in doubles competition.
Anastasiia Kuprina and
Ashley Glick teamed up to get Concordia on the board with an 8-6 win.
The loss drops the CUI women to a record of 5-4 on the season.
Next match for the Concordia Women's Tennis team is on Monday, Mar. 6th against Indiana Wesleyan at the Costa Mesa Tennis Courts. The start time is set for 10:00 AM.
