Men’s Tennis Splits Over the Weekend

CUI – 3 UHH – 6
 
The Concordia Men's Tennis Team dropped a tough match to Hawai'i Hilo on Friday by a score of 6-3.
 
The Eagles split the singles matches with the Vulcans, each team winning three.  Erik Witzlinger won in the No. 3 spot for Concordia (6-3, 6-4).  Daniel Reddmann grabbed a win in the No. 4 spot (6-1, 6-0), and Thijs Hagen won a close battle (6-3, 7-6) in the No. 6 spot.
 
Concordia dropped all three doubles matches.

The Eagles turned it around on Saturday as they took on Arizona Christian, pulling off a 6-3 victory over the Firestorm.
 
Till Guttenberger won the No. 1 matchup in straight sets (6-3, 6-4).  Witzlinger notched his second win of the week in the No. 3 slot (6-3, 2-6, 6-0), and Reddmann also won his second of the week in the No. 4 spot (6-4, 6-3).  Man Hon Ko won his No. 5 matchup (6-2, 6-3).
 
CUI took two of the three doubles matches.  The No. 1 team of Sten Boersma and Witzlinger won 8-6, and the No. 3 duo of Guttenberger and Otto Heinz won their match 9-8.
 
The Eagles return to action on Friday in Azusa beginning at 1:30 p.m.
