In their final non-conference matchup of the season, the Eagles dropped the final game of the season series to Cal State San Bernardino in 10 innings.
The Coyotes got the scoring started in the top of the first to take a one run lead.
Concordia answered back in their half of the first as
Ryan Land walked and
Haloa Dudoit was hit by a pitch. A balk moved both into scoring position and an error by the CSUSB second baseman brought Land in to score, tying the game at one.
A one-out double from
Jair Donovan sparked the Eagle offense in the bottom of the third.
Bailey Collins came to the plate and crushed a two-run homerun to right field for his sixth of the year. Holland followed up with a single before stealing both second and third, putting him in the perfect position to score on a double by
Dillon Millar, giving Concordia a 4-1 lead.
San Bernardino got a run of reliever
Isaiah Bettencourt in the top of the fifth to cut the lead to 4-2.
Cade Temple took over on the mound in the top of the sixth and did not allow a run while recording two strikeouts in his two innings of work.
Carpenter Pagett came in to pitch in the top of the ninth as the Coyotes were able to score two runs and tie the game at four to force extra innings.
CSUSB recorded three straight hits, taking the lead.
Chad Whiteaker took over on the mound with one out in the inning and got the Coyotes to fly out twice to end the inning.
The Eagles were unable to score in the bottom of the tenth and fell to CSUSB 7-4.
Holland led the offense going 2-5 with three stolen bases. Collins had three RBIs in the game.
The Eagles return to PacWest play this weekend as they head up to Oakland to take on Holy Names in a four game series. Friday's doubleheader is set to begin at 2 p.m.
