Concordia University Irvine libero
Clarice Buchanan collected the title of PacWest Conference Defender of the Week Monday after an outstanding effort over this past weekend.
Buchanan racked up 59 totally digs in two games, including a career-high 39 on Saturday
in Concordia's 3-2 comeback victory over Dominican. The 39 digs set a new school-record in the rally-scoring era for most digs in a five-set match.
Buchanan has been a stabilizing force in the heart of the Eagles defense this year. On a team that has no seniors, the sophomore transfer has been an anchor on the back end along with fellow libero
Naomi Jean as well as defensive stalwarts
Jaclyn Brown and
Riley Gill.
Buchanan and the Eagles will close out their regular season this coming week as they welcome Academy of Art to town on Friday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. before the season finale this Saturday, Nov. 10 at 5 p.m. against Holy Names.
