COSTA MESA, Calif. – The Concordia Beach Volleyball team start off the first game of the season sweeping Vanguard 5-0 on Thursday.
Avery Keathley and
Kersti Whitney started the day off winning in three sets against Kayla Tinker and Gabby Morrison after losing the first set 15-21 and coming back 24-22 and 15-13 in the next two sets.
Vanessa Bernzen and
Tristan Self put up a strong fight against Kelli Dowell and Hannah Holder defeating them in three sets after a 14-21 loss in the first set. Bernzen and Self came back to defeat them in the next two close sets with scores 21-19 and 15-13.
Marcela Frazzoni and Kyra Autin formed the Eagles third team where they swept their opponents, Dani Erdelatz and Charity Dennis, winning both sets with a score of 21-13.
The fourth team was formed was formed by
Asia O'Neil and
Jessica Diederich who defeated Karly Cantu and Eliana Johnson in two sets 21-17 and 21-10.
The fifth team,
Riley Gill and
Kekela Hendrickson dominated in two sets against Karli Burk and Bree Belton with scores 21-11 and 21-13.
The Eagles are set to take on Mira Costa on March 2
nd in Carlsbad, CA starting at 10:00 AM.
