Concordia Baseball sunk by Sea Lions

SAN DIEGO, Calif. —Neil Lang and Concordia Baseball came out firing in the early innings of game three in the four game series against the Point Loma Sea Lions (14-11, 10-6 PWC). Lang pitched through seven innings and struck out seven Sea Lions. Davis Tominaga and Haloa Dudoit went 2-for-4 in game one.

Chris Martin sacrifice bunted for an RBI to get the Eagles on the scoreboard in the fourth. An inning later, a trio of outfield singles knocked Dillon Millar across the plate for a 2-1 lead. The Eagles were leading through the fifth until PLNU's Flores hit a two-run home run in the sixth to secure the Sea Lions 4-2 win.

Game one brought Point Loma's Ace, Stephen Young to the mound. Young was an All-West Region and PacWest preseason team selection with a 2.05 ERA in 2017. Batting against Young, the Concordia lineup crushed seven hits and two runs.

The series finale contest proved problematic for the Eagles defense allowing 14 runs, 12 of them earned. On offense, Millar doubled, Dudoit singled and Bailey Collins hit a three-run bomb into the water to score both. The Eagles continued to trail 6-3. A solo run in each of the fifth and sixth innings rounded out the scoring and Concordia fell to Point Loma 14-5.

Up Next: Eagles Baseball takes a week off from conference play and returns with a four-game PacWest series at Cal Baptist on March 29-31.
