			STOCKTON, Calif. – The Concordia Women's Water Polo Team dropped both contests this week to Division I opponents, falling to Fresno State 14-7 and No. 8 Pacific 18-4.
 
Friday, Apr. 6: Fresno State defeats CUI 14-7
Concordia dropped their first game of the week to Fresno State by a final of 14-7 after being outscored 11-3 in the first half.
The Bulldogs opened with four-straight goals before 
Corbin Bricks utilized an assist from 
Lindsey Heaney to put CUI on the board with just over a minute to play in the opening quarter. 
Dailynn Santoro answered a Fresno State goal with one of her own, assisted by 
Elena Isogawa to bring the Eagles back within three and the first period came to a close with the Bulldogs in front 5-2.
The second period opened with six-straight Bulldog goals before Heaney found the back of the net for the Eagles' third tally of the game with less than 30 seconds remaining in the half.
Trailing 11-3 to begin the second half, 
Shannon Graham struck for the first goal of the third quarter to cut the deficit to 11-4. Santoro followed with a goal a minute later to bring CUI within six. The Bulldogs answered with two of their own and held a 13-5 advantage heading into the final frame.
With two minutes to play, Concordia trailed 14-5 before Heaney found a hole for her second goal of the game. 
Kasey Tippy scored the final CUI goal of the night, and the game ended 14-7 in favor of Fresno State.
 
Saturday, Apr. 7: Pacific defeats CUI 18-4
The Eagles faced a tough opponent in No. 8 Pacific on Saturday and were overcome by the offensive power of the Tigers, dropping the contest 18-4.
CUI was held to one goal in the first half, scored by 
Lindsey Heaney on an assist from 
Ramsie Haskell in the opening period. The Tigers scored six times in the first and five in the second to take an 11-1 lead into halftime.
Kelley Geurts scored the second Eagle goal less than two minutes into the third quarter.
Elena Iosgawa, assisted by 
Shannon Graham, and Haskell, assisted by 
Katharine Leese, scored two more goals for the Eagles in the fourth quarter, but CUI was no match for Pacific.
With the loss, CUI falls to a record of 5-13 overall. They are back in action on Friday when they host Loyola Marymount.
