The Concordia University Irvine men's water polo team opened its season Saturday against California in the Triton Invite at UC San Diego.
Junior
Messan Moore became the first Eagle this season to score multiple goals in a game when he scored twice in the first quarter.
CUI trailed 4-0 before Moore's double dip sliced the deficit in half.
But the Bears were able to get back on track and went on a 10-0 scoring binge to create separation. Cal ultimately prevailed 19-3.
Concordia sophomore
Patrik Zsiros scored his first goal of the season in the third quarter.
Zsiros tallied two more goals in CUI's second contest against Air Force.
His final score of the day put the Eagles in front 7-6 early in the fourth quarter.
But the Falcons were able to cash in two more times to eke out an 8-7 victory.
The Eagles will play twice more Sunday in the Triton Invite starting with La Verne at 8 a.m.
