Eagles Get Scoring Boost In The Nick Of Time

After competing in multiple tournaments over the past few weekends, the Concordia University Irvine men's water polo team begins conference play this Saturday against the Air Force Academy.

Coming off a strong performance at the Inland Empire Classic, Nick Walker proved he can be counted on to give the Eagles a boost on offense.  The junior attacker led the Eagles in scoring during the two-day tournament by tallying eight goals along with three assists.

Walker tallied three of those goals in CUI's 13-11 win over the University of Redlands.  CUI finished 1-3 at the Inland Empire Classic after falling to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, USC, and UC-Santa Barbara.

CUI's Messan Moore also scored in every game this past weekend and finished with a total of seven goals over the course of Concordia's four matches.

CUI brings an overall record of 3-6 into this weekend but has lost two of those matches by just one point.

One of those narrow losses was a non-conference tilt against Air Force at the Triton Invitational.

The Green and Gold make the trip to Colorado Springs this weekend for their first WWPA match of the season.  Their game is set to start at noon on Saturday, September 15 at the Academy.

The Eagles first home game of the year will be on Friday, September 28 against Fresno Pacific. That match is slated to start at 1:30 p.m. at Woollett Aquatics Center.
