After flying out to Colorado Springs, the Concordia University Irvine men's water polo team was looking to soar past the Falcons Saturday afternoon at the Air Force Academy.
Â
However the Falcons had other plans and cruised to a 19-11 victory at high altitude.
Â
Eagles sophomore
Dan Maleski put the Green and Gold on the board when he tallied a goal late in the first quarter.
Â
CUI trailed 9-3 at halftime but was able to rack up eight goals in the second half.
Sophomore
Patrik Zsiros and junior attacker
Nick Walker each tallied three goals to lead Concordia (3-7).
Â
Messan Moore and
Austin Barton aided the cause with two goals apiece.
Â
The Eagles will be back in Southern California for the rest of this month.
Â
After facing UC Irvine this coming Thursday just a few blocks away from Concordia's campus, the Eagles will hold their first home match of the season on Friday, September 28. That match begins at 1:30 p.m. when Fresno Pacific visits Woollett Aquatics Center.
