Gordon Ties Ramirez For Second All-Time In Goals Scored

Concordia's Connor Gordon finished up an unbelievable month of September with two more goals Saturday in a 4-2 non-conference loss to Azusa Pacific.

The two-time men's soccer PacWest Conference Player of the Week notched both goals off of penalty kicks against the Cougars.

Gordon's second tally gave him 41 career goals and moved him into a tie for second place on the school's all-time scoring list.  He is now tied with MLS star Christian Ramirez who currently plays for LAFC.

The first goal by the Concordia redshirt senior on Saturday knotted the match at 1-1 in the 34th minute. The two squads would remain deadlocked at intermission.

Unfortunately, the host Cougars pounced in the second half and pulled away thanks to a late scoring spree.

Gabriel Costa in particular was a thorn in Concordia's side all afternoon.  Costa broke a 1-1 tie in the second half with a clutch goal and assisted on all three of the Cougars other three scores to lead the charge.

Down 4-1, Gordon converted his second PK attempt in the 84th minute to cap the scoring.

Gordon and Costa ended the weekend tied atop the PacWest conference with nine goals apiece.

Concordia continues its season-long six-game road trip this Thursday when the Eagles visit Point Loma at 1 p.m.
