IRVINE, Calif. - The Concordia University Irvine men's water polo team came from behind this evening to beat the Air Force Academy in over time 13-12.
The Eagles used a huge third quarter to turn the momentum. Down 7-3 at the half, Concordia went on a 5-0 run in the third to take the lead heading into the final quarter.
In the fourth quarter the score went back and forth with the Eagles needing a goal in the final two minutes to force over time. That goal came with 16 seconds left in the game courtesy of Marius Jakimcikas, his fourth of the night (he finished with five).
The Eagles got three goals a piece from Messan Moore and Austin Barton, as well as goals from Nick Walker and Patrik Zsiros.
Concordia moves to 3-2 in the WWPA and takes on Loyola Marymount on the road on Saturday November 2nd.
