SAN DIEGO, Calif. — On Saturday, Eagles baseball hit the road for a non-conference doubleheader at Point Loma. After splitting two games on Friday, Concordia dropped the doubleheader to the Sea lions in game one 8-2, and game two 2-1.
Game One
Tony Garcia III went 3-for-4 with three singles and Nick Grimes went 2-for-3 with two singles.
Point Loma struck early and hard putting up five runs by the fifth inning. In the top of five, Concordia flipped a switch and rattled off five base hits. Alex DiMascio started the rally with a single up the middle and was moved to second on a single to the pitcher by Grimes. Next, Haloa Dudoit loaded the bases with a single to left field. Jair Donovan came up clutch once again, knocking a base hit to right field to score DiMascio and get the Eagles on the scoreboard. Cooper Moore added another, singling up the middle to score Dudoit. Concordia trailed 5-2 after five.
Point Loma added three more runs in the seventh and eighth inning to defeat CUI 8-2 in game one of the Saturday doubleheader.
Game Two
In a low hit-low score game two, errors proved to the the downfall of Concordia. Matt Lautz put down a sacrifice bunt in the third inning to score Will Bonn and the Eagles solo run for the nightcap. Point Loma topped CUI with two runs in the fourth and the rest of the scoreboard frames remained empty for a 2-1 loss for the Eagles.
Nick Manago pitched 3.1 innings in game two, allowing only one hit. Bailey Collins went 2-for-3 with a bunt for a base hit and a single through the right side.

Eagles Baseball (3-7, 0-0 PacWest) returns home for another non-conference matchup against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Tuesday Feb. 26. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m at Eagles Field.
