MAKING HISTORY
Concordia University Irvine enters its first trip to the NCAA DII Tournament with a 23-10 overall record.  Led by First-Team All-Region and First Team All-Conference selection Brian Chambers and fellow seniors Geoff Gerlach and Tyler Lacour, the Eagles finished in second place in the PacWest Conference with an 18-4 mark and were undefeated at home in league play (11-0, 12-1 overall) for the first time since 2011. The Green and Gold went 3-4 against teams in the West Regional Tournament, including two victories over Chaminade and an overtime win at home against Point Loma that snapped the Sea Lions' 14 game-winning streak. CUI head coach Ken Ammann has now led the Eagles to at least 20 victories in 15 of his 18 seasons at the helm. Kayle Knuckles was also named PacWest Freshman of the Year after a stellar regular season. This past Sunday, the Eagles were selected to the NCAA DII Tournament for the first time in program history after completing the transition from NAIA.

KNOW YOUR OPPONENT
Saint Martin's went 4-0 against PacWest Conference schools this regular season, winning at Point Loma and Notre Dame de Namur while also posting victories over Fresno Pacific and Holy Names at neutral sites. The Saints have four players averaging at least 11.0 points per game and their top five scorers all shoot between 35 percent and 39 percent from three-point land. E.J. Boyce leads the Saints with 13.2 ppg and has taken and made the most treys this year. The trio of Rhett Baerlocher, Tavian Henderson and Jordan Kitchen all shoulder the load as the primary rebounders with each averaging right around 5.5 boards per contest. The Saints were upset by the No. 8 seed Western Oregon last week in the semifinal round of the GNAC Tournament.
